How I Winterize (My Method)
- Shut off & inspect — supply closed, backflow/pump checked, drains/low points located, zone order verified.
- Hook up safely — downstream of backflow; 50–60 PSI with high CFM.
- Zone-by-zone clearing — short passes to fine mist; pause between zones.
- Backflow & drains — purge test cocks; leave drain plug off or partially threaded.
- Controller — City-water can stay ON; for pump/lake/well I disable pump-start so the pump can’t run dry.
- Report — Paper Sprinkler Winterizing Report at your door + text notes; check the drain in 24–72 hours.
